Key Ingredients

Dry-Rendered Tallow

The same fatty acids your scalp already produces, so it conditions without laying down a coating that has to be stripped off.

Grape Seed Oil

Light and fast-absorbing, high in linoleic acid. It's what keeps the blend from feeling heavy on fine hair.

Meadowfoam Seed Oil

Unusually stable against oxidation. It lays a light layer along the hair shaft, which is what reads as less frizz.

Argan Oil

Rich in oleic and linoleic acids plus vitamin E — the part of the blend doing most of the work on dry ends.

Frequently asked questions

Will it make my hair greasy?

Not if you use it as a pre-wash. Work it into the scalp and dry ends, leave it 20 minutes or overnight, then shampoo it out. If you'd rather use it on dry hair after styling, one or two drops smoothed over the ends is plenty.

Does it smell like beef?

No. Properly rendered tallow is close to odorless. What you smell here is the rosemary and lavender, and it fades once hair is dry.

How often should I use it?

Once or twice a week is enough for most people. If your scalp runs dry, twice. Start with less than you think you need — a dime-sized amount covers the scalp, and a drop or two is plenty for the ends.

Will it wash out?

It should. One normal shampoo usually does it, two if you used a heavy hand. Shampoo the oil first before you add water — it lifts out more easily that way.

Is it safe for color-treated hair?

It's an oil blend with no sulfates, silicones or alcohol, so it won't strip color. If you've just had a service, check with your stylist first.
